Welcome to Word Nerd Gifts.

What is the Word Nerd Army?

The Word Nerd Army is the collective term for the people who supported me - Rebecca Woodhead - during my campaign to win Ms Twitter UK with the slogan 'The pen is mightier than the pin-up'. I won the contest and am now Ms Twitter UK. As promised, I am using the generated publicity to promote the ideals behind the campaign and the concerns of the original members of the Word Nerd Army.

'The Word Nerd Army' from now on will also refer to anyone who supports the ideas that came out of the campaign and uses them as a springboard to help lovers of words in a helpful and loving way.

Be nice. Disagreement is fine but bullying is absolutely unacceptable and you'll be blocked and reported.

The term 'army' is not to be used as an excuse for violent or vile behaviour. The publishing industry, literacy, libraries and all things bookish are under threat during the economic downturn. An army of supporters could help so much. If you agree with the spirit of this idea, feel free to call yourself a member of the Word Nerd Army.
